Cameron Awkward-Rich

Cameron Awkward-Rich is an assistant professor of Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Before arriving at UMass, he was a postdoctoral associate in transgender studies with the program in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies at Duke University. Cameron's work has appeared / is forthcoming in Signs, Science Fiction Studies, and American Studies Quarterly, and he is at work on a book on the politics and poetics of maladjustment in transgender literature and theory. Also a poet, he is the author of Sympathetic Little Monster (Ricochet Editions, 2016) and Dispatch (Persea Books, 2019), and his poetry has appeared in The American Poetry Review, The Academy of American Poets Poem-a-Day series, Indiana Review, and elsewhere.
