Calvin Cheung-Miaw

Calvin Cheung-Miaw (he/him) is Assistant Research Professor of History at Duke University. He is a historian of race that works at the intersection of intellectual and cultural history and social movement history. Asian Americans and the Color-Line, his current book project, uses the intellectual history of Asian American Studies to explore the rise and decline of Third Worldism in the United States. His writings have appeared in or are forthcoming from Amerasia Journal, Pacific Historical Review, Politics, Groups, and Identities, In These Times, and Organizing Upgrade. Prior to graduate school, he spent a decade organizing hospitality workers in Silicon Valley.
